Ashley audet
ARTIST STATEMENT
Ashley Audet is an Illustrator and Designer, who works in both Graphite and Ink. Since the age of 2 her mother saw she had a talent for drawing. Her mother would save all her scribbles and sketches, and even enter them into local art contests and showings. She always encouraged her to practice and improve her skills. When Ashley was around the age of 9 she started keeping a portfolio of her work. At the age of 15, Ashley was accepted into and attended the Art Instruction Schools where she was awarded a Certificate of Completion within a few years time. Although she attended this school, they were not the only ones who helped her develop her skills. Ashley had a lot of incredibly encouraging public school art teachers. As a child Ashley found herself moving a lot.
As a result, she was able to work with many different art instructors. At the age of 18 (her senior year in HS), Ashley had a still life drawing hung in an art exhibit at Plymouth State University. During that same year, she had two pieces published in the Lakes Region Community College’s art publication. Ashley credits this push from her Laconia High School art teacher, Linda Danielovich, to be the thing that got her where she is today. As well as the never wavering encouragement she received from her mother. In March of 2019, Ashley created her own brand called A Door Unlocked and started taking on commissioned requests. Just a few weeks in she was able to call herself an international designer after landing her first commissioned logo design from the UK. From there she has consistently had projects lined up and continues to add products to her ecommerce site, where you can purchase prints and other items featuring her work.
