ARTIST STATEMENT
As long as I can remember I have had a desire to create art. As a teenager, I took as many art classes as I could and fell in love with oil painting. My art teacher encouraged me to pursue my talents, leading me to get a Degree in Art Education at Plymouth State University. After graduating I was able to share my passion while teaching Elementary and Middle school art.
Recently, I have started working for myself and teaching adult painting classes. Now, I have the opportunity to practice my skills and continue my artistic journey. Growing up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire has inspired many of my paintings. Like many artists, I enjoy using light and shadow to add depth and definition to my paintings. I try to emulate New England's beauty and charm using loose, decisive brush strokes to capture each subject. My goal is to create paintings with just enough information for your eyes to create the scene.
